Last night I had the honor of coordinating a “Glow Premier” event in the SF Bay area, over 150 women (and a few men) attended this amazing night. We had the chance to listen to three women featured in the movie: Barbara Rubin, Marilyn Tam, and Sandra Yancey.

It is interesting to me how often we can read a woman’s “professional profile” and think: “what does she know; she has had a perfect life.” And then we hear the REAL story – it was inspiring!

Here are some of the GLOW-ious take a ways from the evening:

1 – Life is truly what you make it;

2 – We need as women to not be afraid to talk about money – it is not a taboo subject;

3 – Some women know their passion and some women grow into their passion  - both are ok!

4 – Women should be happy and financially stable, and that should not depend on a “partner” to complete it. To think “I am happy but broke” really isn’t a good thing!

5 – We need to ask for what we need! We need to stop saying “I’m fine” when we need something! FINE stands for: Feeling Insecure Neurotic and Emotional and we are just covering it up and being passive aggressive.

6 – It is perfectly ok to use our network – men do it, so should women!

7 – Ask for what you are worth; first know what you are worth.

8 – If you are waiting for approval from another person, especially a family member, you may never find it. Seek self approval and your life will be grand.

I could go on and on! Pick one of these that speaks to you and be willing to “try it on” this next week!
