Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/21

Posted by Ann Evanston on Monday, December 22, 2008, In : Thought of the Day

Find joy in the season. Sometimes we can get caught up in everything we have to do around the holiday. Finding joy in those things is so important! Today at Target I let a woman pay before me because she had one thing and I had MANY. Today I find the joy in making my sauce for lasagna for Christmas Eve (very Italian). Yesterday it was joy in wrapping presents and loading them up under the tree.

What will you find joy in today?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/17

Sometimes fear can be overwhelming, especially with all the negativity in the world. Your heart can tighten and pound out of fear. Feeling fearless is so empowering! It frees you from thinking to have to "be" a certain way or "act" a certain way. It allows you truly express YOU! My picture on this site I took because I wanted to be fearless about being sexy AND smart I once feared you could not be BOTH!

Where do you need to feel fearless today?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/16

You are the sum total of who you hang out with and what you read. Your success depends on it.

So in 2009 who will you hang out with? What will you read?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/11

Posted by Ann Evanston on Thursday, December 11, 2008, In : Thought of the Day

“Let your heart be light.” This is actually a quote from a Christmas song. I love Christmas music, and I believe in the messages of the holiday season. “Let my heart be light” is not just for the holiday, we can apply it all year long. Sometimes with all we are asked to do, have to do, want to do and depending on how we are feeling we can harden our hearts. When we are stressed and overwhelmed with expectations of us we can harden our heart. Often it is not intentional. It only hurts ...

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/10

Posted by Ann Evanston on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, In : Thought of the Day

What do you do to challenge yourself to be the BEST you you can possibly be? Do you read? Take Classes? Meditate? Hang out with people you want to be like? It’s not about what others think is your best – it’s what you think!

What do you do to be your personal best?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/9

Enjoy morning. It is truly the only time of the day that is 100% yours. Often women think they will take some time "later" to read, exercise, meditate, pray - but later never comes because life gets to us. Morning is that time for you.

I truly enjoy morning. What can you do to better enjoy morning?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/8

Ask another woman to share something with you that you love. We all have things we love; romance novels or vampire novels, soups or cookies. Saying to another woman: “I just LOVE soups, do you have a favorite recipe I can try?”, makes a woman feel good.

What can you ask another woman for today?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/5

Stop pretending to be “fine” when you are not “fine”! Why is it that “fine” and “nice” become something that women are “supposed to be? Who wrote that rule and why did we fall for it? If you are not fine, that is great. Sometimes you cannot be nice and do what needs to be done – that’s great too!

What can you do to stop living the lie of “fine”?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/4

Posted by Ann Evanston on Thursday, December 4, 2008, In : Thought of the Day

Get over the fact that everybody will not love you are even like you and put yourself out there anyway! Sometimes it seems like women can get so caught up in who they like or do not like and allow it to effect their own opportunities for success. Stop worrying about that! The world is made up of MANY different people – sometimes the one you do not like is the one you can most learn from!

Can you set it aside personally and go for it for your career and or personal success?

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/3

Posted by Ann Evanston on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, In : Thought of the Day

Two more powerful words to think about today: “I choose”. I believe we are in control and when we realize that we choose. I choose: my thoughts, my feelings, my actions – my power increases.

Too often as women we give up our power by letting others “choose” our emotions. Wow! Saying and thinking things like: “he makes me mad”, or “you frustrate me” are powerless – do not give anyone that much power! Imagine being able to own it: “I choose to be mad” or saying “Right...

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/2

Today's thought is brought to you by Mary MacNab! We have connected via the internet, have now met and support one another as women! Thanks Mary!

We are all living our true alignments with abundance when we live from the heart.

What I know for sure is that when we help someone else succeed, we help ourselves immeasurably.  We are saying to the universe and to ourselves, that we TRUST and we know that we are all one.  As we give to or help or lift another, in however small a way, we are helpin...

Zena Women Thought of the Day 12/1

Posted by Ann Evanston on Monday, December 1, 2008, In : Thought of the Day

Have you ever noticed that when we get on the elevator we all face forward and don’t make eye contact and stop talking? So crazy! Why does that "rule" exist anyway? Have some fun on your next elevator ride – face everyone and talk to them! Last time I did this I had everyone laughing! It might just make your and someone’s day because you chose to break the rules!

On occasion be silly – break a rule!

What other "silly" things can we do?
